This bottle of 1998 Lafleur exudes such mineralité on the nose that it is rendered more distant and less appeasing to the senses than the 1999 Lafleur

There is excellent volume and punch to the sleekly muscular and powerful medium weight plus flavors that possess fine cut on the balanced and quite firm finale that delivers outstanding length

This too is overtly floral with its broad-ranging nose of spicy red and dark berry aromas that slide gracefully into the super-sleek

This is definitely relatively forward for a young CC and a wine that should be reasonably approachable earlier than usual
