Dr. Marqueta Abraham, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Dr. Marqueta Abraham is a dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a strong commitment to providing exceptional patient care. Her philosophy centers around the belief that patient care should always be the primary focus of healthcare providers. Dr. Abraham specializes in the mental health needs of individuals across the entire lifespan, with particular expertise in forensic and acute psychotic conditions.

Her remarkable contributions to the field have earned her numerous accolades, including a nomination as a Healthcare Hero by the Memphis Business Journal in 2018 and the prestigious Inspire Award from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 2021. In December 2021, Dr. Abraham was interviewed by Contraceptive Technology Update to discuss sexually transmitted infections, further showcasing her expertise in public health education.

Dr. Abraham actively volunteers her time to speak with teenagers and adults about mental health awareness. She is also a published author in the Journal of Black Nurses Association (Summer/Fall 2021) and has contributed to educational initiatives such as “STD Education Among African American Women: An Educational Improvement Initiative” and Shared Governance: A Practical Approach to Transforming Interprofessional Healthcare, Fourth Edition.

A proud alumnus of both the University of Tennessee at Martin and the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Dr. Abraham holds a doctoral degree from Abilene Christian University. She also earned a post-graduate degree in psychiatric mental health nursing from Union University and a post-doctoral degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Most recently, she was honored as a fellow at Duke University for Nurse Practitioner Entrepreneurship Program.
